Valentyna Dovzhenko

Valentyna Dovzhenko is a PhD and Associate Professor at the Department of Economic Theory, Intellectual Property and Public Administration at Polissia National University (Zhytomyr, Ukraine). She has been working at the university since 1999 and has over 25 years of experience in academic teaching and research.

She earned her PhD in Economics in 2007 and was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in 2011. Her research focuses on public sector economics, intellectual property, innovation policy, cultural governance, and the development of creative industries. She is the author of over 50 scientific publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles, collective monographs, and conference proceedings.

Valentyna Dovzhenko has participated in the implementation of a range of research projects. She is a team member of the state-funded research project “Public Administration of Regional Security and Sustainable Development of Territories” (2021–2025). She also served as project leader for “Scientific Justification of the Effectiveness of Public Policy in the Use of Natural Resources and Ensuring Environmental Safety” (2023), and contributed as an expert to applied research projects such as “Scientific Justification of Medical Care Quality Monitoring” (2022) and “Scientific Justification of Infrastructure Support for Territorial Development” (2021).

Her commitment to continuous professional development is evidenced by numerous training programs. In 2023, she completed the Jean Monnet Chair SISDDP Erasmus+ Spring School (Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University) on “Sustainable, Inclusive, and Smart Development in the Context of Decentralization: EU Experience”.

Her international experience includes participation in the Erasmus+ virtual academic mobility module “Ukrainian and Global Security Issues: Threats to Sustainable Development” (University of Maryland, USA; Sumy State University, Ukraine; Polissia National University, Ukraine, 2022).

In 2019, she completed the Social Entrepreneur School IBS (Innovation, Business, Society) under the Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal Institute (Norway), focusing on innovation and social entrepreneurship.
